Global Entry to the US. Are you eligible?
Can you imagine a future where there is a pre-approved, bio-metric system of global entry into the US from airports across the world?
Welcome Global Entry; Applications are now being accepted.
US Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) have started taking applications into a new Trusted Traveler Program. Applicants must create an account with the Program to start the process. A $100 non-refundable fee is required with each completed application. Once the application is conditionally approved (which includes a rigorous background check), an interview is arranged with the Global Entry Enrollment Center.
The purpose of the Program is to speed up the process through passport control, however, any violation of the Program’s terms and conditions can result in further review or revocation from the Program.
Global Entry is available to nationals from only a few countries at the moment. Switzerland was not originally one of those countries, however, after submitting a signed petition of interest, they have been granted the opportunity this year. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers will be in Switzerland from November 27 to December 8 to conduct in-person enrollment interviews for those who have successfully completed the registration.
