Jason Gyamerah is a Senior Tax Manager in the Zurich office of US Tax & Financial Services, specializing as a dual handler in US and UK tax compliance and consultancy. Prior to joining, Jason spent 12 years providing advice to clients in tax investigations and disclosures with top 10 UK accountancy firms. Since 2009 he has been a senior member of the US private client and trust team at US Tax & Financial Services, while leading the UK compliance team.
Jason’s expertise includes US and UK trust compliance, with particular focus on assuring compliance with IRS and HMRC tax regulations, as well as providing solutions for tax-efficient planning and restructuring. His work has included an extensive number of negotiations and settlements with both the IRS and HMRC, in agreeing the tax treatment of civil law jurisdictions’ structures such as Foundations, Stiftungs and Anstalts. Jason also advises a number of fiduciaries on the requirements and impact of FATCA legislation in relation to their US clients.
As part of a dynamic Swiss team, he has been at the forefront of advice and comment on recent developments in this new era of tax transparency faced by banks, trustees and other fiduciaries in both Switzerland and Lichtenstein. Jason regularly writes and presents on UK and US tax matters.
Jason holds a B.Eng. in Civil Engineering and is a former lecturer at the University of Texas (Arlington) Business School. He is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents and the Association of Taxation Technicians.
